Anthony Davis still believes Dallas can make the playoffs: "Brooklyn started off 5-20 and ended up at the four seed"
1+ hour, 50+ min ago (479+ words) The Dallas Mavericks have fallen into the abyss after losing to the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night. At 5-15 after that setback, the Mavericks dropped to next-to-last in the Western Conference team standings, with only the 3-17 New Orleans Pelicans sitting behind. Despite being in a huge hole, Anthony Davis isn't about to waive the white flag on their 2025-26 season. With still more than enough games to play, he still feels the team can turn things around. Davis referenced the 2022-23 Brooklyn Nets, a team that actually had a 13-12 record over their first 25 games, but still finished as the sixth seed led by Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. In the history of the NBA, only two teams have made the postseason after a 5-20 start " the 1984-85 Cleveland Cavaliers and the 1952-53 Baltimore Bullets. If this season's Mavericks are somehow to accomplish the feat, they…...
Minnesota Vikings final injury report highlighted by starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy and multiple trench players
1+ day, 13+ hour ago (258+ words) The Minnesota Vikings are entering Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks in desperate straits. They have just six games left in the season and are four games out of a playoff spot. If they want any semblance of a chance to make the playoffs, they have to get a win. The biggest question was with quarterback J.J. McCarthy. Would he be able to make it back less than one week after suffering a concussion? He did not pass concussion protocol, which means Max Brosmer will be making his first start. Will he have a healthy offensive line to help protect him? We won't know until Sunday, as the final injury report gave us multiple pieces of information. Jackson officially being out is definitely concerning, but Blake Brandel is more than capable to step in at guard and be a servicable player....

4 Stars of the Game in Green Bay Packers’ 23-6 Win Over Minnesota Vikings
6+ day, 15+ hour ago (647+ words) It was a huge win the Green Bay Packers at this point in the season, so at least for today, it's time to celebrate. The key from here on out is keeping this winning momentum up against NFC North opponents, but this was a great start. On a beautiful day at Lambeau Field, the Packers took care of one of their biggest rivals. It was a 23-6 win that wasn't really close. The Packers had control of this game the whole time, and the Vikings never really threatened them. Green Bay's offense did just enough to be dangerous. Head coach Matt LaFleur was a bit conservative in his play-calling, but he didn't need to really do anything out of pocket. The Vikings had a hard time stopping the running game, and the Packers were able to play ball-control football. Give credit…...

Greenard will miss his second straight game with a shoulder injury, which will mean an increased load for Dallas Turner at the outside linebacker spot. No other real surprises for the Vikings on the inactive list, but they will once again go without an emergency #3 quarterback in this one, as John Wolford remains on the practice squad…...

1+ week, 8+ hour ago (757+ words) After five games of struggles, Penn State's power play found its game again, scoring twice in a 2-1 win over Minnesota on Saturday night. The Nittany Lions won their final game before the extended holiday break to earn a split against a desperate Minnesota team. Minnesota found the scoreboard first after a cross-checking penalty on Carter Schade. LJ Mooney found an open Tanner Ludtke in the low slot at the left faceoff circle, and Ludtke slapped home the puck with Kevin Reidler out of position to give Minnesota a 1-0 lead. Offense was hard to come by, with both teams combining for 12 shots on goal in the opening frame. Minnesota's neutral zone trap continued to stymy Penn State's zone entries and forced the Nittany Lions to dump and chase. The Gophers took a 1-0 lead into the intermission. Penn State finally started to…...
Spokane Zephyr's losing skid extended to four in 1-0 loss to Brooklyn
1+ week, 9+ hour ago (427+ words) Nov. 22Spokane has stumbled lately with a 1-3-1 record in its last five games three consecutive losses to Carolina, Tampa Bay and Dallas since Oct. 30. As the first half of the season draws to a close, the Zephyr looked to snap a three-game skid without its star forward Ally Cook who leads the team in goals scored (four) in a road match against Brooklyn FC at Maimonides Park Saturday a team that lost 11 straight games, but has clinched all three of its wins at home. Spokane's back line was tested early as Brooklyn forward Rebecca Cooke danced around multiple defenders and hooked a shot on goal that Hope Hisey deflected in the second minute. Brooklyn outshot the Zephyr 5-2 in the first 30 minutes. It wasn't until the 31st minute, when Ginger Fontenot netted a shot off a pass from Aryssa Mahrt which was nullified…...
